should look at; it’s the construction of the

foundation that will stand the test of

time.” David Allen Coe.

What is the Foundation of the Focus On Purpose

Blogs?

Though I initially thought to make this the first blog, I decided it was better to give it its own page so that the ancient foundations can be seen and examined at any time. When it comes to expressing why I feel it important to expose the foundation of my writing, I could not better Jesus’ parable of building on sand vs building on rock; what is built on shifting sands of opinion, will not hold in the storms of life. In the Bible, truth is compared to a rock because the Hebrew word for truth also means stability. So when we build on the truth we are building on a strong and stable foundation. What is Truth? The standard and measure of truth, for me, is the Word of God; there is no stability in the thinking of man. Even what we term science, changes its thinking from day to day. If God is who He says He is, then His Word must be true, firm, and stable. The foundational truths I want to lay down here are two-fold: 1. God is who He says He is: a. Compassionate b. Gracious c. Slow to anger d. Abounding in lovingkindness (mercy) e. Abounding in truth f. Faithful g. Forgiving h. Eternal i. Source of all Life j. Sovereign k. Creator l. Redeemer of Mankind through the sacrifice of His Son Jesus. 2. We are who God says we are. Included in this truth, is the truth of Creation as described in Genesis. Perhaps some of you will shudder in horror, but if you really read the Bible from the frame that God is who He says He is, then you are going to come across statements of facts that cannot be true if evolution is true, and if those facts are not true, then God is not who He says He is. I am not qualified to argue the science of evolution and creation, but if you are interested, I would recommend a site maintained by scientists who stand upon the truth of Genesis and provide the science to justify it. See Creation Ministries International. As this is a foundational truth, my first blog will start at the Beginning...
As you touch or hover over each picture in the four small squares above, they will be magnified in the main square. This demonstrates what happens in our minds; what we focus on becomes enlarged in our minds, to the exclusion of other things. When we get to see a larger frame, and see how the smaller parts fit together, our understanding often shifts.
